Great American Diner in Bay City, Michigan. Located at 2020 Broadway Ave in a mixed business and residential Bay City neighborhood. The diner seats 90 customers with booths, tables and counter seats in the tradition of a true American diner. The property was built new and first opened October 2001 under Rudy J's. Rudy J’s specialized in fantastic breakfast items including 30 different omelets and over 20 specialty sandwiches. Rudy won awards and served to packed houses until they relocated to a larger downtown property in 2009. Niko's opened in 2009 and specialized in home cooking and a flair for Greek baked goods: serving fantastic breakfasts, lunch or dinner in a friendly atmosphere. Niko's owners retired in 2016 and Big D's opened and added pizza ovens to the full function kitchen. Big D's closed due to sales shortfalls and a failed concept for specialty pizza in the highly competitive pizza delivery realm.
