About York County
York County, South Carolina, lies just south of the state border from Charlotte, North Carolina. New and less-expensive suburban housing, lower property taxes, and some of the best-ranked school districts in the state in Fort Mill have helped make the county one of the fastest-growing areas of the Charlotte metropolitan area. Jay Coleman, Office Partner
Before joining TKC, Jay was a Vice President with Northwood Office in Charlotte, where he co-led all leasing efforts across a 4.4 million square foot, 42-building portfolio. Prior to Northwood Office, Jay served as Vice President with Stream Realty Partners, where he co-led the Office Division and was focused on project leasing and identifying strategic investment opportunities for the firm and its clients.
Prior to beginning his career in commercial real estate, Jay spent over a decade serving in the United States Marine Corps as an AH-1W Attack Helicopter Pilot, achieving the rank of Major, and completed a combat deployment to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jay is a graduate of Virginia Military Institute, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business. Additionally, he is a graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he received a Master of Business Administration degree.
Cliff Benson, Retail Broker
Cliff spent most of his life in Raleigh, North Carolina but now lives in Charlotte with his wife, Mary.
Cliff is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Over the past 25 years, Charles has worked in a number of roles in Charlotte firms, all of which included some form of leasing. Charles takes great pride in providing landlord’s and developers superior service, deep market knowledge, all with an owner’s mentality. Understanding how to make a deal that works for both parties.
Charles worked in retail leasing and brokerage with Collett, Crosland and Aston Properties where he was responsible for leasing a multitude of projects for an array of partners and third party owners. The projects were across the southeast and enabled him to create a significant broker network that he uses today.
Charles is a Charlotte native and continues to live in the city he loves with wife, Lauren. Their two boys are now in college, and they spend as much time as they can trying to hang out with them!
Charles is a licensed broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.
