Arlecdon is a village in west Cumbria about 6 miles east of Whitehaven, just 3 miles outside the Lake District National Park and on the A5086 which links Cockermouth with Egremont. It has a church, primary school and convenience store. The Hound Inn is prominently located on the main road with views of the fells of the western Lake District. The Hound Inn is a popular and delightful village pub in west Cumbria which has been much enchanced by the current proprietors since it was acquired in 2005. It benefits from a local drinking trade and food trade from a wider area. The local area has employment from Sellafield and there is a proposed new nuclear power station at Moorside which would provide further employment in the area.
