Bio
Rob is a veteran of the retail property industry. He has an in-depth understanding of the retail industry and has advised throughout his career most of the leading UK property companies and Institutions and has also advised many of the top 50 UK retailers.
He started his career in Healey & Baker (now Cushman & Wakefield), joining Lunson Mitchenall in 1991, were he helped shape the company and rose to the role of Managing Director. Rob left Lunson Mitchenall in 2014 to form Time Retail Partners. He is a member of the BCSC and ICSC.
Rob has dealt with over 30 shopping centres in his career (over 15m sqft of retail space), in both asset management roles and in a leasing capacity. He has also dealt with numerous high street properties. His landlord clients have included Intu, Hammerson. Westfield, M & G. Lend Lease, and the Howard De Walden Estate.
Rob’s knowledge of the retail industry has been developed by his strong relationships with retailers that he has advised throughout his career. Some of these relationships have shaped the future of entire retail companies, as it is the case with Game, which Rob took from 112 stores in 1994 to over 1,300 stores in 10 countries today. Rob has worked closely with World class retailers such as M & S, River Island, Next, Debenhams, Monsoon, Mango and Arcadia (parent company of Topshop). More recently, Rob has been working with several international retailers looking to enter the UK market, such as Adore Cosmetics from the US.
On the investment side of the business he has been involved in numerous shopping centre acquisitions, including the purchase of The Metrocentre in 1995, which at the time was the largest shopping centre acquisition to date in the UK. He has most recently provided Cerberus with due diligence on Project Eagle, a recent loan book acquisition from NAMA.
Rob works closely with the US office to maintain and expand international relationships. Despite being a confessed workaholic, Rob makes time outside the office for his passion for Military History, walking battlefields, the Theatre and following his favourite football team, Arsenal. He lives in West London with his wife and 2 children.
